DAY 01
Arrival - Negombo

Arrive in Colombo International Airport. Meet and Greet services by a representative of SAFFRON ISLAND SRI LANKA

Afterwards proceed to Negombo.

After breakfast proceed to Sigiriya via visiting Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage

Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage was started in 1975 to house abandoned and wounded elephants. The sanctuary covers 25 acres of lush vegetation with an approximate population of about 77 consisting of both adult and baby elephants. The best time to visit is the feeding time and the bathing time; when all the elephants are taken to the river close by.

After visit Sigiriya Rock

Sigiriya is home to the 5th century "Fortress in the sky" which is the most fantastic single wonder of the island. On its summit are the foundations of what was once a great and sumptuous palace and garden complete with a swimming pool. On one of the stairways the only known ancient work of Sinhala secular painting survived in the form of frescoes of life sized damsels in all the freshness and delicacy of their original color.

DAY 03
Sigirya - Hiriwadunna Village - Sigiriya

After breakfast proceed to Sigiriya

En route visit Hiriwadunna Village

HIRIWADUNNA is just 02 Km (05 minutes - drive from Habarana, Trek through the archetypal Sri Lankan Typical village. The trek begins with an awesome walk along a bund of a Wewa or manmade reservoir. The reservoir itself, the surrounding scrub jungle, marshland and village are a hive of early morning or an evening activity. The amazing birdlife, butterflies and possible sightings of crocodile only add to the charm of seeing the villagers as they go about their early morning tasks of fishing, or washing clothes at the periphery of the lake. Bullock Cart (Double Ox Cart) which will transport through the next phase of the adventure. The journey continues through dense shrub forests, Paddy lands and other home to many forest birds and other wildlife including monkeys, bear, wild hare, python, Mongoose, and even elephants. Sightseeing of the rural village life possible while on the cart ride

lie back and enjoy the flashes of blue sky through the canopy of the trees as the carter expertly guides his animals. Catamaran Safari – (Double paired canoe joined together with seating facility) at the scenic lake & Wade through a shallow stream and the sense of adventure heightens when you need to get a Chena Cultivation via a somewhat wider tributary which needs to be crossed on a Catamaran!!

At the Chena cultivation you will stop to enjoy the farmer’s humble hospitality. Perhaps enjoy a drink of sweet King Coconut/Aromatic ginger tea or some other seasonal fruits.

Chance of experiencing bird watching while on the Catamaran such as Peacocks, green pigeons,comorans,green bitters, King fishers, Eagles and many more birds and also land monitors as well as water monitors. Finally after experiencing the Cart ride and the Catamaran safari the next is the Traditional Lunch at a local house prepared by the village women.

After breakfast visit Polonnaruwa for sightseeing of the ancient city

Polonnaruwa- king Parakramabahu reign is considered as the golden age of Polonnaruwa. It was his reign that is considered the Golden Age of Polonnaruwa, when trade and agriculture flourished under the patronage of the King, who was adamant that no drop of water falling from the heavens was to be wasted, and each be used toward the development of the land; hence, irrigation systems far superior to those of the Anuradhapura Age were constructed during Parakramabahu reign, systems which to this day supply the water necessary for paddy cultivation during the scorching dry season in the east of the country.

In the early afternoon, visit Minneriya or Kaudulla national park to see the Wild elephants.

Minneriya is a national park in North Central Province of Sri Lanka. The area was designated as a national park on 12 August 1997, having been originally declared as a wildlife sanctuary in 1938.[1] The reason for declaring the area as protected is to protect the catchments of Minneriya tank and the wildlife of the surrounding area. The tank is of historical importance, having been built by King Mahasen third century AD. The park is a dry season feeding ground for the elephant population dwelling in forests of Matale, Polonnaruwa, and Trincomalee districts.

DAY 05
Kandy – Kandy Sight Seeing - Kandy

After breakfast enjoy a city tour including arts and craft center, Botanical garden, Kandy Market and Kandy View point

Kandy - the laidback capital of the hill country, and the historical bastion of Buddhist power, is built around a peaceful lake and set in a picturesque bowl of hills. Today it is the center of Buddhism, Arts, Crafts and Culture.

Royal Botanical Gardens Peradeniya 147 acres in extent; Started in 1374 as a pleasure garden of the Kings of Kandy. There are more than 5000 species of trees and plants. Some rare and endemics as well as flora from the tropical World Spice Garden and Orchid House are popular with tourists.

End the evening by visiting temple of tooth relic & witnessing a spectacular cultural show

Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic ever since 4th Century A.D, when the Buddha's Tooth was brought to Sri Lanka hidden from sacrilegious hands in an Orissan princess's hair, the Relic has grown in repute and holiness in Sri Lanka and throughout the Buddhist world. It is considered Sri Lanka's most prized possession

Kandy cultural show – Sri Lanka, a country rich with culture & tradition offers a very vibrant and unique show of Sri Lankan traditional dances, in the form of Kandy cultural show. The beat a dancing from "Salupliya" depicting several demons, "Thelme" vibrant expression of low country rhythm, Fire and Harvest dances accompanied by Ceremonial Drums and the Drum Orchestra rising and falling to the lively tempo. As many as 12 different folk and traditional dances are performed by Kandy lake club dance troupe within the span of one hour.

After Breakfast proceed to Nuwara Eliya and enjoy a city tour

Nuwara Eliya Surrounded by hills and tea plantations, the town of Nuwara Eliya enjoys spring-like weather throughout the year. A favorite retreat of the British during colonial times, the town is dotted with English country style houses and half-timbered bungalows, with names like Sun hill Cottage or Windsor Hotel. No surprise it’s earned the name "Little England". The Holy Trinity Church might have stepped out of any village in England, with its Gothic architecture and eclectic collection of memorials, while the “pink post office” features a clock tower. The Grand Hotel, Hill Club and Golf Club also hark back to a previous era, where tea by a log fire, overlooking the lawns with topiary and roses, might be followed by a spot of billiards

DAY 07
Hatton – Adams Peak - Hatton

After breakfast hike at little Adams peak

Little Adam’s peak is Ella’s best known tourist attraction Resembles Adam's Peak Located in Ella and it is an half hour climb to the top of the 1141 meter peak also feel the breathtaking views of an endless valley, tea plantations and waterfalls across through the hike.

After breakfast proceed to Kitulgala and experience the white water rafting adventure

Kitulgala is a small town in the west of Sri Lanka. A rain forestry area, which gets two monsoons each year, and is one of the wettest places in Sri Lanka Nevertheless, it comes alive in the first three months of the year, especially in February, the driest month. The Academy Award-winning movie The Bridge on the River Kwai was filmed on the Kelani River near Kitulgala, although nothing remains now except the concrete foundations for the bridge Kitulgala is the base for white-water rafting in Sri Lanka.

DAY 09
Colombo – Departure

After Breakfast enjoy a Colombo city tour.

Colombo is the largest city and commercial capital of Sri Lanka. Located on the west coast, it is a busy and vibrant city with a mixture of modern and colonial impressions. Colombo has wildly varying architecture that span centuries and depict various styles. Many colonial buildings influenced by the Portuguese, Dutch and British exist alongside structures built in Buddhist, Hindu, Islamic, Indian and Contemporary architectural styles. No other place is this more evident in the heart of the city the Fort area. Colombo also boasts many shopping malls and department stores that offer brand name clothing at highly discounted prices. Therefore, it has become an important shopping destination among tourists.

Afterwards at leisure till departure transfer to the Airport
